1. Who we are
Countermove is run by the team behind Countermove, from Switzerland (“we”). Contact: hello@playcountermove.ai. Who is responsible for personal data is set out in the Privacy notice.
2. What Countermove is
Countermove is a simulation. The companies, brands, people, markets and results in it are fictional. Some in-game news is inspired by real public headlines, rewritten for the game and sized within fixed limits; it does not describe what will happen to any real company or market. The economic model draws on published research but is simplified on purpose.
3. Not advice
Nothing in Countermove, including anything the AI Advisor, AI colleagues or AI analysts say, is investment, financial, legal, tax, accounting or business advice. Don't rely on it for real decisions. AI-generated text can be wrong, even when the numbers it quotes come from the game.
4. Acceptable use
- Choose company, brand, display, team and group names that are not offensive, hateful, sexual, religious, political, or the names of real companies or brands. We filter names and may remove ones that get through.
- Don't try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, get around rate limits, or use the Advisor to generate content unrelated to the game.
- Don't enter personal data about yourself or others into free-text fields.
- Share cards and reports you download are yours to post for personal, educational and non-commercial use. Don't edit them to suggest that real companies or people took part.
5. Availability
We provide Countermove as it is and as available. We may change, pause or withdraw any part of it, including AI features, at any time. Saved games live in your browser; we are not responsible if they are lost when browser data is cleared.
6. Intellectual property
Countermove's software, design, text and model belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to play. Reports and share cards you generate are yours to use for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes. Headlines from the GDELT Project remain subject to their publishers' rights; we show only short titles with a link to the source.
7. Our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of Countermove or reliance on anything in it, including indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost data or business interruption. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for Countermove in the previous twelve months and 100 euros.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
8. Indemnity
If you use Countermove in breach of these terms, for example by publishing a misleading edited report, you are responsible for any claims that follow.
9. Schools and organisations
An organisation that runs Countermove with a class or team is responsible for how it is used in that setting, for any consents its participants need, and for any grading based on results.
10. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change and continued play means you accept the new version. These terms are governed by Swiss law; the courts at the operator's place of residence in Switzerland have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory protections of the country where you live.
